Happy 2021, you guys! Anyone else so excited to start a new year, and start fresh? This time is the year of new goals and new beginnings, and because everyone has new goals we wanted to share ways that you can stay on track in order to achieve those goals. Here’s what we have planned for you all.

I sense a restock in LAKI’s future! Anyone else excited. We’ll be restocking the ALTA Jogger sets once more because you guys just can’t get enough. So, if you’ve been wanting some of our ALTA gear for a while- now’s the time to get it! 


How To Stick To Your New Year’s Resolution

Most people begin the New Year with a New Year’s Resolution. I definitely do, but for some reason I can never stick to it for more than a month. We know it can be difficult to stick to your new goals which is why we wanted to give you all some tips on how to stick to your New Year’s Goal!


First things first, think of your goal more of a lifestyle change rather than a resolution. A slight change of perspective will allow you to take your goal more seriously, and prevent you from giving up so easily. Resolutions are rarely taken very seriously after the first month, but a change in your lifestyle will definitely sound more important.


Start small. Diving right into a difficult goal will only discourage you because- none of us are perfect- we’re bound to mess up. Take baby steps. If your goal is to eat healthy, try starting with simply eating home cooked meals, once you’ve got that down try adding fresh fruits/veggies. Once, you’ve got that down try cooking healthier foods like chicken, fish, etc, all in all. You’ll find your goal is much easier, and way less discouraging. This could work with any goal too, not just healthy eating!


Add in a small reward system, when you achieve your small accomplishments. Make sure your rewards aren’t contradicting your goal though! Give yourself a little treat, or small gift once you achieve part of your goal. If you accomplish your entire goal make sure you treat yourself a bit. It may sound silly, but this will help you think more positively about your goal, and stay motivated enough to achieve it! 


Know that you’ll mess up. No one is perfect, and no one can make an important lifestyle change in just one day. Perfectness is impossible to achieve, and we must admit to ourselves that we all have weaknesses. That’s why we have goals in the first place! There’s a good chance that you’ll mess up or forget about your goal, but don’t let this discourage you from working towards it! We strive to be better and do better. Especially when it comes to ourselves and our goals.


Ask for help! You’re not the only one who has goals, and you’re not the only one who needs help accomplishing those goals. So don’t be afraid to ask for help, and let people know what you’re trying to accomplish. Once they know they can help you make adjustments, stay motivated, and keep you from making mistakes you might have made if you were on your own. There’s no shame in asking for help! Your best friends will always be around to support you.
